Feather eyebrows – trend or tragic?

Quirky new trends in makeup and beauty seem to crop up weekly on social media, and feather eyebrows is just one of the latest I have spotted as I browse Instagram.

If you search #featherbrows on Instagram there are over 60,000 posts. Funnily, the beauty blogger who posted the original photo says she only did it as a joke! I think you’ll agree it’s not for everyone and it’s getting a very mixed reaction. But bear in mind it’s not permanent – it’s just having a bit of fun with brows.
Achieving this look involves separating and brushing your brows and then sculpting them with hair products. You need fairly bushy brows to begin with, and some sculpting products such as a decent brow gel. Some people have added colour or glitter to the look to make it even more dramatic.
Other crazy eyebrow trends include dragon brows:

Barbed wire brows

And the “brow carve”

Personally, I love to see people having fun and being adventurous with beauty and it certainly makes for great photos. That said, I don’t think anyone will be coming into the salon asking me to do this as part of their makeup look or when they’re in getting their eyebrows shaped! Let me know in the comments if you love or hate the feather brows trend!
