Sherise gets Married!

You may have noticed that I have been quiet on the blog for past few months. One big distraction was getting married!
I have spent so many years working with brides, whether it is prepping their skin in advance of the wedding, perfecting their eyebrows as it approaches, or doing their makeup on their special day. Suddenly it was me in the hot seat, and everything I thought I knew about getting married went out the window. All the planning and prep was enjoyable, but it is hard work – I felt like I had a part-time job wedding planning on top of a business to run!
We chose to have an intimate wedding abroad, on the stunning Amalfi Coast in Italy. I don’t know whether organising a destination wedding is more or less stressful than one at home, but I found myself experiencing a whole host of emotions as the day approached. There is so much to think of and so many decisions to make.
So many mornings I have found myself trying to soothe a jittery or nervous bride as I make her into the most beautiful version of herself. Thankfully on my own big day I completely relaxed as I began to get ready – I was in one of the most beautiful places in the world about to marry my best friend – what was there to be nervous about? (The obligatory glass of prosecco helped I must add!)
I can honestly say we had the best day of our lives. We took an extended honeymoon where we drove all over Italy and Sicily for six weeks before returning home. Now it’s back to work and back to helping other brides-to-be prep for tying the knot.
Now when I work with a bride I have an even deeper understanding the emotional rollercoaster she might be on! I also understand first-hand how critical it is that you look and feel like your best self on your wedding day. For many women that might mean finally having the perfect eyebrows thanks to eyebrow embroidery – I have so many enquiries every week from brides-to-be about the procedure.
For others, it might just mean rocking their favourite red lipstick. This is why I find my job so rewarding – beauty is confidence and I adore helping a bride put their best foot forward as they take that trip down the aisle.
